TEAM VACATION: A DAY AT HYLAND

SIA DAY FOUR

I caught Steve from Celtek driving around a little car getting in everyone’s way.

Seattle in Lakers colors? Wish I had these when I lived in Seattle.

Marie Hucal repping Ashbury.

Pete, Lars, and Eli talking about nothing probably.

Cameron Strand looking prertty urban in the backcountry in the new Corduroy Magazine.

Brandon Larsen son.

Marie Hucal was super awesome and helped us tear down the booth. Eli was psyched to have the help.

Didn’t expect to see Victor Simco at the show.

Thanks Brandon and 32 for helping me with tools.

During take down our chalk was tagging up the floors.

Triangle Circle.

Tight fit with Pete and Eli.

We finally did it. Pete, Lany, Eli, Wolfe, and Marie.

I always make dragon noises at Trisha. She works at Dragon.

Lany and I got front row seats to the Nuggets/Clippers game. It was crazy. And if you’re like Bob Plumb, you’ll be saying, “I thought front row meant no one sat in front of you?” But If you look closely the only people in front of us were the Clippers and their staff.

The mascot bugging the security.

Lany excited.

Caron Butler and Blake Griffin.

The mascot giving Teboy some love too.

My favorite Clipper, Deandre Jordan.

The girl next to Lany is from Denver and a Nugget fan, but she has a crush on Griffin.

Some guys next to us caught wind of her crush and gave her an autographed photo. It’s crazy, this was my fifth NBA game this season, and our front row tickets in Denver were pretty much the same price as the last tickets we got in LA where we had our backs to the wall in the top section.

SIA DAY THREE

Pete had my pass inside on the third day, so I had to get a new one and apparently they thought I said I was Mike Hakker. I walked to our booth hiding this pass the whole way, it’s confusing enough to everyone when you’re an identical twin, but when you’re wearing your twins badge, it’s extra stressful.

32′s Brandon Phillips helping sort out our goggle wall.

Eli Hayes and Wolfe.

I gave Brandon some shades and he set the box on the convention center floor. Did some kids find a brand new pair of Ashburys or was this Brandon’s practical joke?

Oli Gagnon was zoned in on all our old videos, Daniel Frank in Stomping Grounds.

Brandon got in on the tagging of our booth.

Eli’s awesome jacket.

Marie Hucal and my new friend Harland.

I had to try out my fisheye on Alex Karayan too.

Brendon Hupp embarrassed by my annoying blahg skills.

Spy vs. Spy.

Yobeat’s Justin Parkhurst, Brooke Geery, and Jared Souney.

Brooke’s new #kitteh tattoo.

Stories from Johnny Lazz.

Nick Lipton left Chicago. I seriously wonder what he got himself into at night during the show.

We were going to premiere the Videograss teasers at our booth, but we were having serious sound issues. Luckily for us, one of snowboarding’s most awesome people, Brad Alband, as well as Volcom were next to us with an awesome sound system.

We know how to create traffic.

First we showed the Keep the Change teaser which is now under the VG flag. Next was Enlighten which is Gary Milton and Hayden Rensch’s movie. Both were so good. I was nervous because the snow has been so bad, but they’re getting after it.

Lastly we played Justin Meyer’s teaser for The Darkside. Then we played them at the Ashbury booth for the remainder of the show and I seriously never got tired of any of them.

Mo crowd. This time I made them all blurry, on purpose of course…

Dave Lee and Pat Estrella.

Kevin Stevenson and his baby! I never really think babies are very cute, the all look the same and make me nervous. But this one is pretty cute.

I got to peep the Aunti Films teaser too.

Brandon Larsen, Hupp, Phil Jacques, Danimals, and Chris Brewster hanging while I try to blog.

Alex Karayan finally joined Instagram and like everyone, is obsessed. Follow him @elmcompany, and don’t forget to follow @ashbury_eyewear too.

Lunch. I’m not kidding.

Marie Hucal’s cat hangs with a possum.

I just found out that Austin Will got a job at Nike.

I was sitting there going through this Yobeat poll with Nick Lipton and realized that 2 of the 5 nominees for ‘Most likely to wake up with puke on their shoes?’ were at our sitting at our booht. On the left was Bode Merrill and on the right is Marie Hucal. I voted for Blake Geis though, even though I don’t think he was at the show.

Arkade gave me their new issue and I was psyched to see a Cole Taylor interview. He does all the FODT movies and we’ve been tight with him and FODT forever.

A couple midwest powerhouses, Scott from Cal Surf and Mike from Youth Shelter Supply/Bald E Gal.

Cody Beirsdorf is super tight.

Pete talking midwest to the Transworlders, Mark Wiitanen and Ben Gavelda.

Stepchild’s Sean Johnson and People’s Ben.

Chicken!

Wolfe came close to fainting again. He’s okay though.

Cameron Strand and Pete. No party photos from day three, we were too tired.

SIA DAY TWO

More traffic on the way to the show. At least this time it snowed.

Don’t worry everybody, we’ll make it.

New issue of Corduroy mag. Joe Mertes laid it out, Cameron Strand shot the cover, and Pete Harvieux made it happen.

My boy Treu Hanenburger, Ride boot dude. I lived in Seattle for a year while I was K2′s team manager, and I worked in the same building as Treu, and stayed at his place before I got my own, and have known him forever. And when I talked about how I didn’t like living in Seattle, he responded with, “When did you live in Seattle?”

Our SIA intern Eli Hayes showing the line.

Marie Hucal, she was nominated for Rookie of the Year!

Jake Kuzyk hanging with the Signal posse, Jake OE, Cody Beirsdorf, Brandon Larsen, and Sam Fenton.

Thrashton Kutcher DJing at the Arial Seven booth.

Think Thank premiere at the Dinosaurs Will Die booth at 2.

Before the teaser premiere DWD surprised everyone including Ben Bogart with Ben’s pro model. It was so awesome.

You know you love Dinosaurs Will Die.

So psyched for the Think Thank video.

Oli Gagnon, Dan Weigel, and Sean Genovese.

Trying to get Dan again. I won’t stop.

Very important stuff here.

Important stuff compliments of Emage’s Jake Zimmerman.

Brandon Larsen and Billy Mackey.

Mark Wiitanen from Transworld came to the booth to harass me with a camera.

He did it with a little help from John Antoski.

Doug and 32′s Brian Cook talking biz, while I spy.

Kate and her new little baby!

Brandon Phillips is killing it.

Big Mike, Bode Merrill, Chris Brewster, and Dylan Alito trying to corner me at our booth.

More Dan.

Eli taking it down.

The wall’s progression.

Justin and Amber Meyer flew into town with the new Videograss teasers.

Pete Harvieux and Wolfe hangin at Hard Rock with us.

Denver looks like it’s poppin off…

I got to the Transworld Rider’s Poll Awards and ran into Parker Worthen right off the bat.

And on the other side of me was Burton’s Kelly Stoecklein.

ALex Karayan, Sean Genovese, and Jeff Keenan.

I was really disappointed that Jake Kuzyk and Marie Hucal didn’t win Rookie of the Year, but it was cool to see Eric Jackson win part of the year. He totally deserved it.

Xavier De La Rue won too, which was awesome because he’s gnarly.

Jess Kimura won 3 awards. I think she’s won every time she’s ever been nominated.

Jamie Lynn won the Legend Award. So tight.

Nando Alcocer , Cole Taylor, Ethan Fortier, and Oli Gagnon.

Danimals, Richie Conklin, and Jordan Small.

Signal’s Mark Wieregna.

Ian Samms getting his groove on.

After the Rider Poll Awards we went to the Red Man show, everything was free… boo!

The laptop controlling the screen at the who that was playing the Art of Flight was upstairs in the VIP on the ground. Alex Karayan noticed it and started going to town. He tried to go to his website, but there was no internet.

He started to figure it out. It was the highlight of my night.

Sup now!

Then Alex jumped into some group photos with strangers.

Lany and Dan. You know I love shooting photos of Dan. That’s Nam behind Dan, he threw the event. ANd that guy in the red hat just got bit in the foot by a snake.

Partay!

Johnny Lazz and I spied Ben Bogart killing it from the top.

Dylan Alito and Johnny Lazz letting loose.

Jake and Eli.

The drop the dollar from VIP trick again.

Lucky winner.

Doug Olson and Trevor Uriona.

Dylan keeping it consistent.

Poor random guy.

TWA

We were in Ottawa last week. Ladies and Gentlemen i give you, Max Honegger. Long time Friend and Life Champion. He snowboarded with us all week.

Rad Dude #2 we have Frank April. Frank has been laying it on thick this year. Keep your ear to the streetz.

A little lip action.

We might have gone out to party the first night.

#swag

Here Max shows an example of how high the booter was when we first arrived. People seem to like big jumps these days.

Hayden Rensch takes a swing at Frank.

Hayden loves to wrestle. Frank would smash him.

Matt Belzile is filming with us this year. Its really cool. Hayden grabbing a quick insta on the job.

My first snap of the year. Hopefully the last. Its really not as sweet as the movies make it seem. Fly outs will claim boards.

Max Decided to have some fun with my board.

Yoshidas sitting shotgun on this one.

Alex Beebe joined us the last day. Solid hang. Ralph Damman shot some photos of us snowboarding. Hes radical.
