Joe Carlino just made a movie, but he doesn’t want to talk about it. Well, sometimes he does. But right now, he has more interesting things than making one of the best videos of the year to talk about. That’s right. I caught up with him a little bit, you know, just so our blog doesn’t get stale. Because that is something Joe Carlino never is.

I talked to Austin Smith yesterday, and he said you guys were gonna borrow jet skis and get towed into waves? What kind of surfing are you two getting into?

Joe: Big wave surfing bro! We didn’t though. Next time?

Isn’t that what that’s for though, big waves? I’m not very familiar with surfing.

Joe: Yeah, we surf big waves.

You do that?

Joe: Yep.

How’d this past season go shooting Get Real?

Joe: I want my bike to look like this. Let’s talk about cool things, not Get Real? Hahahaha!

So Get Real isn’t cool?

Joe: Not really?

What does your bike look like now? I need to have the comparison for this interview.

Joe: Let me look. I’m emailing a pic. 1 sec. Anyways.

What else is cool?

Joe: I shot guns for my first time last week, and raced Nascar. That’s cooler.

What do you think is cooler, shooting guns or racing Nascar?

Joe: Dang, thats a hard oneeeee. Nascar.

How did you race Nascar?

Joe: I was on the bus tour with Lago, and he had to go to a Jacks Links thing in Orlando. It was a media day, so he called them up. They got me a ticket and flew me down there. Twenty-four hours later we were at the speedway racing.

What is Jacks Links?

Joe: Beef jerky.

He has a beef jerky sponsor?

Joe: Yeah.

Dang, is it good?

Joe: Matador, it’s a brand from Jack Links. Hell yeah it cool. Lago is down for Jerky, so why not? If its something you eat, why not? I mean would you turn down a burrito sponsor?

Yeah I’m not hating. I don’t hate on luxury sponsors like that. Because that is what it is, luxury. How fast did you drive though?

Joe: Top speed was 125.  Not that fast, but the track was tight.

Was it scary?

Joe: I got to race them 2 summer ago in Ontario, CA and did 145. Not Claiming, just sayin. Not that scary, it’s in a controlled environment. This is my bike now.

I like your bike. How fast does your bike go?

Joe: Not super fast? It’s a 400cc. 60? 65? I don’t have speed-o on it, just roll with traffic.

Where did you shoot guns for the first time?

Joe: That’s my crew. In Seattle at Jamie Lynn’s house. Those guys are classic. Lago, classic.

What did you shoot?

Joe: All those guns on the table. Shotgun, AK-47, 38 berreta was cute. Mossberg was heavy, it’s like a sawed off shotgun.

Racing Nascar, shooting guns, motorcycling, what’s next?

Joe: Maybe a girlfriend? No, that does not fit? Bike gang I guess? I think I should go home now?

So you don’t want to talk about Get Real. I know you really don’t want to talk about this, but here it is. How is your next project lining up?

Joe: Things are coming together, we hired Hayden Wrench to be our new filmer. The crew is molding, budgets are being made. I think thats it? Kids don’t care about that stuff.

What do kids care about?

Joe: Jake Blauvelt off Forum is something kids would want to hear about
Ya know, he quit forum, fired his agent then flew to Costa Rica for a month. Thats badass.

Yeah, that is something kids want to hear about. Do you have anymore juicy news kids would like?

Joe: Want me to spill some beans?

Tell us some stuff that kids wouldn’t know, but that someone who spends 5 days a week at the Transworld office would know. Yeah spill those beans

Joe: How about you talk about the new Krew snowboard team?

Haha, not yet. Nice move. Okay, one last question. It’ll be an easy one. Since you’re making the Transworld Snowboard videos, what’s your favorite video of all time?

Joe: Geeezzz, that’s hard? If I said Peep Show, June would be hyped! You are in the credits. All your boys, Laurent, Jake OE, mad cameos. I dont know if I could say my favorite one all time video. But I would say the first Neoproto (the blue one) was the most inspirational for me to make snowboard movies.
