Jake is one of those snowboarders who just snowboards. He doesn’t really think about trying to make moves for his snowboard career, or if he does, I’m sure it’s at all the wrong times, like while he’s playing a video game or something. I mean of course he’s out there filming video parts and stuff, but I don’t think he’s really concerned with who, where, or when he’s doing it. Jake’s just out there everyday doing his thing. And because of that, he’s fresh as hell.
Hey Jake, what are you doing at this very moment?
Jake: I’m hungover, laying on a couch.
Hungover? You’re really living it up now that the season’s over huh?
Jake: No, just celebrating summer.
What have you been doing with yourself this summer?
Jake: Washing semi-trucks for a job and hangin.
What is that, your fourth car washing job?
Jake: Ha, yeah.
Anthony (Cappetta) said something about you staying out late last night in a river?
Jake: Yeah, I went swimming in the Mississippi while watching the sunrise this morning. Super cool.
What made you do that?
Jake: It was real late? No clue, but it was fun.
How has bass fishing been going for you?
Jake: I’m kind of over bass fishing. I’m moving on to catfish, because I just moved one block from the Mississippi.
Well before we move onto catfishing tell me about the very first bass you caught this summer.
Jake: First cast of the WHOLE season I caught a 5 pound bass. It’s a rough life.
Wow, and you’re seriously ready to leave that behind for catfishing?
Jake: The only thing constant is change.
Ok ok.
Jake: I once listened to Bob Dylan play in the rain.
Speaking of change, we just added (name withheld for now) to the skate team minutes before this interview. Any thoughts on that?
Jake: Shut up, for real?
For real.
Jake: Super solid he’s cool.

Yeah, have you been skating much this summer?
Jake: Not once, my knees all jacked right now. I’m trying to rehab.
What happened to your knee?
Jake: Jumping off a cliff, landed flat.
Ouch. How do you feel about your video part this year with Videograss?
Jake: Justin kicked me off Videograss for not knowing good songs. I’m kidding, my video part is hopefully cool.
No song yet though?
Jake: Yeah he’s got everyone’s song but mine. And now I just saw he used a cool song in Videograssaturdays that I wanted to use. I’m screwed.
Haha, how was filming with those dudes different than filming with your homies back home?
Jake: Nothing too different actually.
Who were you traveling with mostly this winter?
Jake: Justin. No clue, I didn’t really stick to one crew.

Well back to fishing, catch any lunker catfish lately?
Jake: Ha, not yet, I’m just trying to learn about it first. Shit’s hard.
Nah, you just get one of those really big poles, throw some meat on it, and wait.
Jake: True.
If you and Joey Sexton had a fishing contest, who do you think would win?
Jake: Ha! Well me of course, but I’m not down for fish contests. It’s fishing time to chill.
Why does everyone call you Spring Break Jake?
Jake: You started that and my real name is ‘Bring It Home Jake’.
Bring It Home Jake?
Jake: Ha! Yeah it’s a funny name.

What’s the story behind that one?
Jake: It’s what they call me on my softball team and they may be other reasons. I’m kidding it’s just a funny name.
Why does Nima call you a pizza delivery man?
Jake: Because I used to deliver pizzas maybe?
He didn’t know that though, I think it’s just your look.
Jake: Ha! That’s kinda cool too.
Who pee’d the bed in Quebec, you or Dirks?
Jake: I woke up and Nick had pee’d all over the bed which we were sharing, it was funny.
Were you wet?
Jake: Soaking, I thought it was just hot in the room though.
Dude, that’s so gross. Did you retaliate?
Jake: No, I don’t pee myself.
Do you pee when you’re in a jacuzzi?
Jake: No that’s gross. What do you think of the Ashbury demo edit Justin made?
I thought it was the best one yet. But I kinda liked the original song he had it edited to, but it was already used in Ihabitants. What did you think?
Jake: Ha! It’s funny. Super cool. Ned (Casual)’s tight.
Ok, well you should probably study up on some catfishing techniques. Make sure you take some photos of the bigger ones so I can post them to update people on your progress.
Jake: Ha! For sure. Late Lance. Anthony’s shirt is cool, you guys making new tees?
We’re working on it now!
