Occasionally in snowboarding you’ll come across one of those dudes who honestly doesn’t understand why they belong in the spotlight. They love what they do and they know what they’re doing, but at the same time they can’t comprehend how they find themselves in their current predicament of fulfilling their dreams. Will is one of these guys, he’s not gonna throw is accomplishments in your face and it’s not an insecurity. Before I met Will everyone who knew him was backing him more than I’m accustomed to, and now that I met him, I think I understand why.

Yo Tuttencommon.

Will: Hello Lance.

First things first. Remember the last two times we played skate?

Will: I try to forget. I have good excuses why I lost though.

Oh yeah?

Will: First game, you put rocks in my shoes. Second game, I had shaky legs. And you did a hard flip.

Big Mountain Mike just showed me a photo of you that Robbie Sell shot. Did you shoot with him much this year?

Will: That was the first time I think… very end of the season. I like shooting with Robbie though. He is a stand up guy.

He used to be a pro too, do you remember that?

Will: Yes I did remember that. I love that about him. I always loved his parts, the jeans got me hooked. I wish he still filmed. You need to tell Sean to stop bothering me during my big interview

You mean Sean McCormick the guy who either has to drive wherever he goes or sit shotgun?

Will: Yeah that’s the guy. He is also known as Bubble Boy.

I bet Bubble Boy regrets bothering you now that we’re smearing him on the web.

Will: Haha. I’m sure he does regret it. That will teach him to ichat me ever again.

So you’re one of the new guys on the People crew this year, how’d that go?

Will: It was awesome. So much fun. Pretty much the whole year I felt like I was living a dream getting to film with Jon (Kooley), Seth (Huot), Zac (Marben)… I never thought that would happen for me.

You’re trying to find a song right now?

Will: Yes, I just emailed Pierre (Minhondo) a few… you should help me find a hit. Want to know something funny about Sean I just found out?

Yes.

Will: Sometimes he sleeps with an eye mask.

Is that part of his bubblisms? Or is this some completely separate issue?

Will: Who knows. Probably bubblisms. I just think its funny. Am I getting off the subject? I will stop teasing Sean.

Since Sean was shooting for Videograss and you were with People, did you guys miss each other this winter?

Will: I did miss him dearly. It made it pretty scary filming with someone totally different too. I don’t know if he missed me though. You will have to ask him about that.

Big Mountain Mike, Nima, Austin Sherbanenko, and our new intern Anthony just went outside to catch a kitty. So hold on one second, I want to run out and see what’s up!

Will: Thats fine. I have to put on some deodorant real quick anyway.

I’m back, they haven’t caught it yet. By the time I go out there the cat had fallen off it’s perch on this stair well about 10 feet and ran off. They’re still after it though.

Will: What are you going to do with it when you get it? Jake (Welch) says “hello”.

Austin is gonna take it to the vet and keep it. There are a lot of feral cats around here. Hey Jake!

Will: Thats nice of him. Do a good turn daily…

Haha, I think the Emporium needs a cat running around. But back to you filming with People. How’d that come about?

Will: Umm… well Jon and Jordan (Mendenhall) basically hassled Pierre about it for a long time… putting in lots of good words, and Jon showed them my part from “Gold Country”, I guess they liked it. It was one of the best days when I found out I got in. Pretty overwhelming.

So you filmed with People and still managed not to have a board sponsor. What’s up with that? Do you just suck?

Will: Hahaha! I do suck. That has to do with it. I also haven’t really done anything before this year so I’m sure it’s hard for people to just put me on. And TET’s.

TET’s?

Will: Tough economic times, I got that from the Berrics. Makes me sound cool.

Will: I hope it’s that easy.

Tell me how you placed in contests this year.

Will: Um, I got 1st overall in every division. Spins for days.

Will: Okay, I didn’t do them… Is that going to hurt my chances of getting a board sponsor?

I doubt it, because if they are following the circuit, I doubt they’ll find themselves on this website. But now let’s touch on the history of Tuttencommon. Tell me about the Team Thunder days.

Will: What would you like to know about them?

How did it start? What was it all about?

Will: It started out as just a bunch of friends… probably 5 or 6 years ago. I know the name started out as a joke and just stuck. But pretty much all of the friends liked to snowboard so we made videos for our own pleasure. You should see the first video we made, “Timid and Tame” its so funny.

Will: Ooohh. Soon I hope. Utah has been pretty rainy and cold for a few weeks now. I need some sun. How about in July?

Yep, we can step out the Emporium’s front door and skate all your favorite spots.

Will: Can you guys get away from the office to go to Disneyland?

For sure, Big Mountain Mike and I have passes. And it’s really close to our house.

Will: This is sounding better by the second.

Okay then, don’t blow this. Now I gotta get back to some work… so let’s end this on a good note. Do you remember when the Lakers took out the Jazz in 5 games in round one of the playoffs this year?

Will: Yes I do. I don’t like you right now. We will get ours! You just wait. We are building a great team.
